Thomas Whitton Registered Osteopath





Thomas Whitton D.O., Grad.Dip.Ost.Paed.

Graduated from the Pacific College of Osteopathic Medicine in Sydney and was licensed in NSW after State Board Examinations in 1983.

Postgraduate training includes: functional technique; cranial osteopathy; osteopathic paediatrics; dry needling for somatic dysfunction. He earned a Certificate in Clinical Practice from RMIT in 1993 and a Graduate Diploma in Osteopathic Paediatrics RMIT 1996.

In 2017 awarded an Honorary Life Membership of Osteopathy Australia for service to the profession.

Thomas keeps in touch with Osteopathic education  by being available for student placements.

Treatment approach

Thomas mainly uses indirect techniques including very gentle functional; counterstrain and cranial techniques. He also uses gentle soft tissue and muscle energy techniques.High velocity low amplitude (HVLA) thrust techniques are used infrequently.

He provides postural advice and exercise prescription.

Thomas refers for medical imaging only where clinically indicated.

If patients give permission and provide access codes/log in details, medical images and reports from regional medical imaging providers can be accessed online by this office.

In his spare time,Thomas enjoys: food gardening; Mooloolah Range wildlife corridor, (a wildlife corridor of State significance) between Eudlo and Mooloolah; Shinrin-yoku: environment campaigning; helping Rakali Creek regenerate and looking for B'lmrai - sunny coast's ownbutterfly- (Tisi phone abeona rawnsleyi) and its food plant Ghania clarkei (tall saw-sedge).
